A Private Photo Appeared While You Shared Your iPhone Screen
You were sharing your screen on a call or a projector, and a private photo flashed past. Turn off photo suggestions and notification previews, and keep private photos in a vault the Photos app cannot show.

What do I need to know?
- Photos surfaces your pictures by itself. Widgets, Memories and Featured Photos pick images for you.
- Notifications can show message text. A preview can reveal a photo or a name.
- Hidden is not gone. The Hidden album is a filter, not a lock on every screen.
What should I do before the next share?
Do these once. They take about five minutes.
- Turn off Featured Photos. Settings → Photos → turn off Show Featured Content.
- Remove Photos widgets. Touch and hold a widget on the Home Screen or Lock Screen, then remove it.
- Hide message previews. Settings → Notifications → Show Previews → When Unlocked or Never.
- Turn on a Focus. Before sharing, open Control Center and choose Do Not Disturb.
- Share one app, not the phone. On a call, share a single window when the app allows it.
What if it already happened?
Ask the people on the call to delete any recording or screenshot if you trust them to. Do not assume they will.
Then move the photo out of your library. Your other pictures can show up the same way next time.
What this doesn't protect against
None of this stops someone from recording a call. A person can also screenshot a photo you show them, and a vault cannot prevent that. A vault protects photos you keep inside it, not ones you open and display on purpose.
Do it with Cryptile
Photos in Cryptile are not in your camera roll, so widgets, Memories and Featured Photos cannot pick them. They open only with your pattern, and a different pattern opens a different vault. Open one only when you are not sharing your screen.
Cryptile is free to start, with encrypted iCloud backup included. Plus adds more, and the app tells you when you reach it. Use 8 or more cells for the pattern.
