Cryptile Plus
Cryptile is free to start. The free plan holds up to 3 vaults, 100 photos and 10 videos in total, with the same encryption, decoy vaults, recovery phrase and encrypted iCloud backup that Plus has. Plus is for when you want to keep more, or want the extra features, whenever that is.
What Plus adds
- No limits. Unlimited photos, videos and documents, and as many vaults as you want.
- The panic pattern. A separate pattern that, when drawn, makes every vault on that device unopenable until it is restored from its recovery phrase.
- Encrypted sending in Messages. Send a photo that exists only inside the recipient's Cryptile vault, with optional view-once and expiry. Arrives in a later release.
- Search inside the vault. Search runs on your device and the index stays encrypted. Arrives in a later release.
- Files access and sync. Browse a vault from the Files app and open the same vault on your iPhone and iPad. Arrives in a later release.
- Shared vaults. A separate encrypted vault for people you trust. Arrives in a later release.
- Alternate app icons.
What it costs
- Yearly: $19.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial.
- One time: $39.99, yours for good.
- Weekly: $1.99 a week, if you only need it for a short while.
- Family: $49.99 a year or $99.99 once, shared with your family group through Family Sharing.
These prices are the same every day. We will not run a countdown, offer a sale that expires, or put a screen in your way. If you are on the free plan you will see Plus features in place, greyed out, with one tap to learn more, and the app tells you once, in place, when you reach a limit.
What stays free
Up to 3 vaults, 100 photos and 10 videos. AES-256-GCM encryption of every file, thumbnail and index. Decoy vaults, padded file sizes and hidden vault counts. Encrypted iCloud backup with a 9-word recovery phrase. No ads, no accounts, and no analytics, on either plan.
