Adult Creators: Storing Content on iPhone Without Leaks
You shoot paid content on the same iPhone you hand to friends. The risk is rarely a hacker. It is a camera roll that mixes work with everything else, and a location tag in a file you post.

What do I need to know?
- Your passcode opens your whole library. That includes Hidden and Recently Deleted.
- Photos can carry where they were shot. Your home address can travel with a file unless you remove it.
- iCloud Photos copies everything. Every device signed in to your Apple Account gets your work too.
How do I keep work out of my camera roll?
These steps are for iOS 27.
- Shoot photos in a vault app's own camera so the file never lands in Photos. Move videos in, then delete the originals.
- Move existing sets into the vault. Then delete the originals and empty Recently Deleted in Collections → Utilities (Apple).
- Lock the apps you post and chat from. Touch and hold the app, then tap Require Face ID (Apple). You can also hide downloaded apps.
- Turn off Lock Screen previews so subscriber messages do not show. Settings → Notifications → Show Previews (Apple).
- Check where your library syncs. A shared iPad or an old Mac on your Apple Account may hold copies.
How do I stop a file showing where I live?
Apple's location metadata page gives three controls:
- Before sharing: tap the share button, tap Options, then turn off Location.
- On a saved photo: tap the info button, Adjust Info, Adjust Location, then No Location.
- For all new shots: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → Never.
Backgrounds give away places too. A window view or a piece of mail can be enough.
What if something leaks?
- StopNCII.org helps adults stop intimate images spreading on partner platforms. It makes a digital fingerprint on your device, and the image itself is not uploaded (StopNCII).
- Keep a record of where it appeared, with dates and links.
- If someone threatens you or shares content without consent, talk to a lawyer. Laws differ by place.
What this doesn't protect against
A vault does not protect files after you upload them, or copies a subscriber saves. It cannot stop screen recording on another person's device. It does not hide your messages, cloud drives or the platforms' own records.
Do it with Cryptile
Cryptile's in-app camera saves photos straight into an encrypted vault, with a GPS on/off switch. Videos can be moved in from Photos or the share sheet. Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM under a key made on the device from your pattern. A second pattern can open a separate vault, and nothing lists how many exist.
Cryptile is free for up to 2 vaults, 100 photos and 10 videos. Plus removes the limits for $19.99 a year (7-day free trial) or $39.99 once. The price is the same every day.
Cryptile Send, Files access and shared vaults are coming and are not available yet. Search inside the vault is part of Plus.
